Midfielder Stephens is on the verge of joining Brighton and striker Kermorgant is a target for Bournemouth.

"It looks likely that Dale will complete his move to Brighton," said Addicks manager Chris Powell.

"The fee has been agreed and I am led to believe that personal terms are done. It may be subject to a medical but it looks likely to happen.

"There has been an enquiry with regards to Yann, but Yann is in today (Thursday) so it's not like it's imminent. I don't know how far down the line it is.

"Both lads have six months to go with regards to their contracts and the club have thought 'do we or don't we'?

"Obviously they have been two very good players for me and I'd prefer them to be here but there are decisions to be made.

"But there may be one or two more coming in."

The Addicks could also loan young striker Joe Pigott to Gillingham.

resumably, you wanted to keep the version of Downing that was never seen at Anfield. The one that another manager has managed to re-create. The one you passed over.
