The Football League Sponsor have launched the Transfer Fund ahead of the start of the new season, which kicks off with Friday night's clash between Blackburn and Cardiff, live on Sky Sports 1HD.

Fans who bet with Sky Bet will earn a token for every pound they spend, putting them in with a chance of winning the £250,000 Transfer Fund for their club in a draw in December 2014.

New and existing Sky Bet customers are eligible to win the Sky Bet Transfer Fund by simply linking their account to the Football League club they support.

By switching from their current bookmaker and betting with Sky Bet, fans will give their club a better chance of collecting the £250,000 to boost its player-buying power in January.

Chief Executive of The Football League Shaun Harvey said: "This competition is a fantastic initiative from Sky Bet. Not only can fans help their club financially every time they place bets, they are potentially able to transform their team's entire season with this great prize."

Sky Bet Transfer Fund Ambassador Jim White said: "The Sky Bet Transfer Fund is a great opportunity for a Football League club fan to make a real difference to the finances at his or her club."

Sky Bet Head of Sponsorship Edwin Martin added: "This season, we wanted to give fans another reason for making us their favourite online bookmaker.

"We know that Football League fans do a huge amount to support their clubs. But for those who like to have a flutter on the football, a simple change to their betting routine could result in a huge cash boost in time for the January transfer window."
