Nacho Monreal: Hoping to win a trophy with the Gunners

The 26-year-old Spaniard switched to the Emirates for £8.7million from Malaga on transfer deadline day.

Since his arrival at left-back, the Gunners have kept a clean sheet against Stoke and Sunderland and Monreal is determined to help his new club succeed.

He told The Sun: "I'm asked to defend well and not so much to score goals.

"When I go forward and assist others, it is as if I have scored, so that is a great satisfaction for me.

"I am a committed person and so give 100 per cent in every game.

"That is the best attribute a footballer can have: that every Saturday you give everything you have for your team."

He added: "I cannot complain about my career but I would like to win a trophy - and I hope I can do this with Arsenal."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
