littler_dutch - I think you're still somewhat missing the point. I'm not anti-wenger, but like a large number of fans, I am a little tired of hearing him argue we can compete where we clearly can't time after time again - the points I made were prime example of our inability to compete - the facts are undeniable. No-one expects him to throw in the towel, but even the most ardent Wenger supported must be open and honest enough to see the cracks that are constantly being papered over at the club.....no-one can realistically expect to sell 2 or 3 first team players including the quality of RvP and then realistically expect to achieve a BETTER result the following season with a weaker squad. I'm afraid it sometimes takes honestly to be realistic rather than stubborn ignorance and false hope fed by the club and management.

The usual suspects will be out calling Arsene deluded. If you don't mind, I'm going to wait until the end of the season

Is this guy for real? I thought nobody could be funnier than our manager but it seems that yes, he is the real deal. Unless you spend some of that profit I am more than glad to welcome you to the mid-table mediocrity club.

I'm sorry but this comment is utterly ridiculous. We have just scraped a 2-1 win over a very poor Aston Villa side and he is talking about finishing 2nd. I would prefer it if he would just keep his mouth shut and focus on sorting out the diabolical defending that we have to endure week in week out. If we get beat at Spurs on Sunday we'll be lucky to finish top 4, fact.

We were actually six points behind City when he made the comments. But you're right, he should really be saying, "We're awful. Everything's been really bad and even the win over Villa was only sealed with 5 minutes to go. Not sure we should even bother with the rest of the season to be honest." I'm sure that would invite an onset of contented, happy responses from Arsenal fans everywhere.......
