Ginter not keen on bench duty

Matthias Ginter has stressed that he has no plans to leave Freiburg just yet, despite reports of interest from Arsenal.

The Germany Under-21 international made 23 Bundesliga appearances last season and while he admits he is keen to test himself at a higher level, the defender is in no rush to move on.

"It's no secret to reveal I am longing to play for a top side from Europe one day in the future," Ginter told Sport-BILD. "I would be lying if I said any different.

"But at this point in time I am with Freiburg and I am really enjoying it here. It's the perfect place for me.

"At my age, there is absolutely no point in being stuck on the bench when I have a great chance to play first-team football at Freiburg.

"This is my club. I was born here."

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)
