The 24-year-old is fully fit after a two-month lay-off with an abdominal problem and should feature in Sunday's home clash against Everton.

Walcott hopes to play his part for the leaders as they pursue the title and has one eye on next summer's World Cup in Brazil.

There are plenty of rivals for places in Roy Hodgson's England squad, but Walcott is confident he can secure his place with some impressive form for the Gunners.

"The first priority is to play well for Arsenal to make sure I am there," said Walcott, who was a controversial omission from Fabio Capello's final squad for the 2010 World Cup.

"It is healthy to have competition (for places), we all want to see English players playing really well.

"I bounced back from the disappointment of 2010 with a very good season for Arsenal, and then last season I finished as top goalscorer, which was a massive personal achievement."

When asked about his recent injury, Walcott said: "After this little knock, I am back to full fitness, so that is not going to affect me at all.

"I just want to remind people what I can do, I am the best judge of what I can do.

"I am the best judge of myself, so I know I will definitely be right back at it very soon."

e'll be fine, no problem. If they do get relegated, he's definitely going to ask how anyone could ever have thought that Villa were going to be fine given their problems before he came.

toke though. Hmn. I don't think it was defending that made people dislike Stoke so much as the out and out cheating/nastiness they regularly displayed. That, and they kept buying the odd flair player and then ruining them (Oh! Tuncay, what were you thinking?).

ell that really inspires me with confidence. No point in training, deciding on a coherent formation, or playing players in their best positions, let's just hope we get lucky.
