Arsene Wenger's side are currently second in the Premier League table, one point behind Chelsea and have a sixth round FA Cup clash against Everton to look forward to.

Although they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League clash last week, and are still in the tournament, it would appear that their best chance of winning silverware is at home.

And the German international thinks that could make for an exciting end to the season for Arsenal fans.

Podolski told the club's official website: "When you look at the table and compare it to the Bundesliga, you can see that here you've got five or six teams competing for the title.

"It's going to be tight until the end of the season. We've got 11 games left in the league and we have to try to find a way of winning as many of those as we can and get the points in any way possible. We want to be at the top come the end of the season.

"The team spirit is always good here, even after defeats. This is a great team - there's a good atmosphere between us and up until now, we've had a super season. We need to keep that with us now.

"I've been at a few clubs and in different dressing rooms but I've never been in a team with such a strong spirit.

"You feel comfortable here - be it on the pitch or off it. You always look forward to being with the team and I think that helps us in matches."

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.

f you want to take six points off Arsenal, then that's a great strike force. Can't imagine either of them showing much for the rest of the season though...
