Wenger is yet to sign a new contract, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season, but he again confirmed after the 1-0 win over West Brom that people should not see that as any kind of concern.

The Gunners were guaranteed Champions League football for the 17th straight season when Everton lost 3-2 at home to Manchester City on Saturday, and Wenger hinted that could well speed up the contract process.

When asked if he would be back at the Emirates next season, Wenger simply said: "Yes.

"I don't know (when I will sign a new deal). I told you many times that my word is my word. I am from a period where you didn't need a pen to commit.

"It is not linked (with the FA Cup final) at all. It was important to be in the Champions League, that is for sure. I have told you many times it is not linked the fact I feel I am useful.

"I do not have moments of doubt. if I did, it would have been a few years ago when I had to say no to many offers and I committed to this club."

Wenger also revealed he had no idea QPR striker Remy, who has been on loan with Newcastle this season, was in the stands on Sunday - the Frenchman has been widely linked with a summer move to Arsenal.

He added: "Honestly I have just been informed that Loic Remy was here, I didn't know. So don't see any sign of us signing Loic Remy in that. I hope he has paid for his ticket! No [I didn't invite him], that's why I tell you I have not invited him."

ow is the time for Allardyce to finally get a chance at a big club please. He is likely to have a number of great offers for his services this summer, but who will he choose? Will it be Liverpool, Real Madrid, Dortmund or Man City?

thought exactly this when the Match of the Day pundits were peddling this line. Is it really not okay for fans of a club to have some ambition these days then?
