Brett Holman: Confident ahead of Aston Villa's game against Reading on Tuesd

Holman came on as a substitute in Saturday's goalless draw and came close to handing Villa all three points when his 25-yard drive was touched onto the crossbar by Wojciech Szczesny.

And the Australian midfielder insists Paul Lambert's men are ready to give everything against Reading, who are one point behind the midlands' side.

"The easy thing for a substitute is to bring hunger and energy and some fresh legs - just to bring something new," said Holman.

"It was good fun to be out there. The fans give you a rush. They're fantastic. You play for the fans and you want to do your best.

"I will give it everything every time I play. You want to get your home fans on your side. That's the most important thing.

"They get you going and give you that extra step. It was a hard-fought point against Arsenal. We will take it considering they are a fantastic side.

"I think the positives are that we kept a clean sheet but also created some good chances. We can take those good points into Tuesday.

"I think it's a good sign for us that we weren't happy with a point. We have the confidence to have a good crack at any side even the likes of Arsenal."
