The 23-year-old midfielder netted for Paul Lambert's men in their 2-2 friendly draw against Wycombe on Saturday.

And Westwood, who impressed during a difficult 2012/13 campaign for the Midlands club, admits it would be extremely special to increase his tally in front of the raucous Holte End.

"You always put pressure on yourself to perform. That's part and parcel of the game," said Westwood.

"I want to continue making progress and be the best I can be.

"You have to believe in yourself - and I always do. You have to learn and grow as a player - that's what I felt I have done.

"In terms of progress, I'd like a few more assists. You're always looking to progress your game.

"But I'd love to score in front of the Holte End too. That would be special - to hear the roar and celebrate with the fans."

Meanwhile, Andreas Weimann has picked up a hip problem but Lambert is hopeful the 21-year-old can recover for the start of the season.

Lambert said: "He's got a sore one, so I need to see how that goes. It's a sore back and a sore hip.

"Hopefully he'll be okay in - I don't know how long - in the next few weeks or so."

don't see Neymar or Suarez wanting to play second fiddle to Messi or playing to support Messi in his quest to get the World Player of the Year award back.
