Utility man Bacuna arrived at Villa Park this summer in a £3million deal from FC Groningen and has made six appearances, scoring one goal.

Normally a midfielder, the 22-year-old has slotted into the right-back berth in recent games and helped Villa keep a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw at Hull City and 1-0 win over Norwich.

Bacuna and Antonio Luna are currently ahead of Matt Lowton and Joe Bennett in the full-back pecking order - and the Dutch Under-21 international admits he is learning from Luna as each game goes by.

"I've started to look at him more now as I'm not originally a full-back but I'm playing there at the moment," Bacuna told the Birmingham Mail.

"I think I can learn from Antonio. He is going up and down all the time - always attacking and defending.

"I will keep improving my own game and maybe I can learn from him."

Bacuna and Luna are seemingly part of Paul Lambert's first-choice defensive line-up, with Ron Vlaar and Ciaran Clark filling the centre-back slots in front of goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

Bacuna has applauded 'good guy' Vlaar, saying: "Ron is a quiet guy but he always wants to win.

"He goes into battle and he doesn't want to lose. He is a really good guy to work with.

"Brad is doing well at the moment. He made some really good saves and when we are playing we feel like we have a guard protecting us."

Clark, meanwhile, has been impressed with Bakuna's recent displays, saying: "He had a nice run against Hull. He puts some good crosses into the box and he's comfortable on the ball.

"He has looked really good when he plays. I think he will still be looking to learn and improve as a player because he is only a young lad.

"He still has a lot more to learn, but he will do that."

h Daniel. I could spend hours on this subject putting the world to rights. You can even take a step back and ask why football fans (and society in general) have this need to know that something will happen before it actually does. There are times this important, when it comes to things like war, food production and natural disasters. A man you've never met changing his job? Not so much.

reat article. Hits the nail on the head. Encapsulates why I don't read tabloid newspapers anymore. The only thing worse is the 'told you so first' headline when they get lucky.
