The Belgian striker returned to form with a brace in the 4-1 victory over Norwich City, before linking up with his national team last week for a 2-2 draw with Ivory Coast.

He is looking forward to the World Cup this summer but is first staying focused on Villa's Premier League campaign, which continues with a home game against Chelsea on Saturday.

Villa are currently 11th in the standings, six points clear of the relegation zone, while Benteke is 10 goals short of his tally for last season and hopes to find the net in every game.

"I just try to help the team and if I can score every game it's good," he said in the Daily Star.

"We have to treat these 10 games like cup finals. We have to do everything to produce 10 good performances and we'll see where it leaves us.

"But the most important thing for me is the team and to try and win every game."

As well as setting his sights on a strong finish to the season, Benteke is determined to make an impact at the World Cup in Brazil.

He added: "I've been away with Belgium playing Ivory Coast and it got me in the mood for it.

"It's going to be a great experience and we've got to be ready for that. We still have a few games to go and we have to see what happens.

"I'm not thinking about the World Cup just now. My focus is on Villa first. I want to finish the season well and after that we will see what happens.

"Coming back after international duty and you can see in training that the confidence of the lads is high. Now I'm hoping we can bring this confidence into the game with Chelsea."

The great sport keeps coming during Magnificent March. Here are some of the highlights you can enjoy with Sky Sports.

resumably, you wanted to keep the version of Downing that was never seen at Anfield. The one that another manager has managed to re-create. The one you passed over.
