The Spain international scored on his competitive debut in Chelsea's 3-1 win at Burnley on Monday night and he finally managed to beat Kasper Schmeichel on 63 minutes at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Eden Hazard made sure of the points with a goal 13 minutes from time as Jose Mourinho's men made it two wins from two to kick off the 2014-15 campaign.

Chelsea and Swansea City are the only teams to have won two games (five more opening weekend winners play on Sunday and Monday), with Garry Monk's side running out 1-0 winners at home to Burnley.

Nathan Dyer scored the only goal of the game at the Liberty Stadium in the 27th minute to leave Burnley bottom of the table, one of five teams yet to claim a point.

Alongside them are Crystal Palace, whose bad week got just a little bit worse when they slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home to West Ham.

Mauro Zarate scored his first Premier League goal to put West Ham in front on 34 minutes at Selhurst Park and Stewart Downing added to their lead with a rare goal three minutes later.

Marouane Chamakh gave caretaker boss Keith Millen brief hope just after half-time, but Carlton Cole's 62nd minute strike sealed three points for Sam Allardyce's men.

Both of Saturday's other afternoon games ended goalless, with Aston Villa failing to beat 10-man Newcastle, who had Mike Williamson sent-off, in the lunchtime game at Villa Park.

And Southampton were held to a 0-0 draw by West Brom at St Mary's, the home side picking up their first point of the season and Alan Irvine's side drawing their second consecutive game.

In the day's late game, Arsenal staged a dramatic comeback to hold Everton to a 2-2 draw as late goals from Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud cancelled out first-half efforts from Seamus Coleman and Steven Naismith.

It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.

f you want to take six points off Arsenal, then that's a great strike force. Can't imagine either of them showing much for the rest of the season though...
