Keith Hill: Looking for new Tykes

Keith Hill: Looking for new Tykes

Latest recruit Marcus Tudgay, who was borrowed from Nottingham Forest, made his Tykes debut in their 1-1 draw at Bolton as they halted a four-game losing streak, and Hill believes more new faces can also help to protect his own future at the club.

"Recruitment is key," he told The Sheffield Star.

"It's brilliant - I've been told I've got money to bring players in. It will protect me, there's no doubt about that.

"Money gets you results. But what we're trying to do is the knight in shining armour - here we come on our horse trying to save the financial football world. However, that can't be achieved overnight.

"But time isn't on your side as a football manager. I woke up the other day and thought 'who am I protecting here?' I need to start protecting myself a little bit. The players will always remain whatever happens results-wise."
