Barnsley boss Keith Hill praised the battling qualities of his side but admitted they must start picking up victories after seeing them draw 1-1 with Burnley at Oakwell.

Keith Hill: Seeking a change of fortune

A first half Marcus Tudgay header rescued a point for the Tykes after they had fallen behind to Charlie Austin's fourth-minute goal.

The draw extended Barnsley's winless streak to eight matches and they have not won a league game since beating Charlton in mid-October but Hill remains upbeat.

"It was an uphill challenge after their goal, but the way the lads responded was absolutely superb," he said. "They showed a lot of bravery and I am pleased with the way we played.

"I am pleased with a lot of aspects of what is happening, but what we are all focused on and what we have to achieve is the end result and there is something missing from everything we are doing.

"I am not fortunate enough to be a development manager who can lose every game as long as there is player development. There is a massive responsibility on me to get results.

"Performance-wise I am very happy and it is progress, definitely. I will wake up and look at the stats and if I can take away the scoreline, it will reflect very similar to the top teams in the league.

"The only thing is missing is the scoreline, we are that close, but are a million miles away."
