Luke Steele: Keen to sign a new deal to stay at Barnsley

Steele has been at Oakwell since joining Barnsley in early 2008, initially on loan, and insists that he is still enjoying life at the club.

He will be out of contract in the summer and is waiting to find out if he will be offered an opportunity to extend his time with Keith Hill's squad.

"I have no other ideas to leave or play for any other club," Steele said in the Daily Star Sunday.

"I have been here for five years and am as happy now as I have ever been in my career.

"If something happens soon, brilliant. I would love to stay at the club.

"That is my honest opinion, there is no hidden agenda."
