Chris Dagnall: Looking to continue winning run

The Tykes secured an FA Cup win over Hull at the weekend when Dagnall fired home a 70th-minute rebound to clinch the Tykes a surprise win and book David Flitcroft's side a fifth-round tie at MK Dons.

The Liverpool-born striker has quickly turned his attentions to the midweek game - with three points a must if Barnsley want to climb out of the bottom three.

"The lads put a good shift in, we'll take the win and it was nice to get a goal," Dagnall said after the Tykes' stubborn rearguard display at the KC Stadium.

"The back three or five were great for us. To come in at half-time with a clean sheet was a big plus for us."

Dagnall struck his third goal in as many games after Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic had brilliantly saved successive shots from Jim O'Brien and Scott Golbourne.

"The keeper pulled off two or three great saves, but it landed to me perfectly," Dagnall added. "So it's nice to get that bit of luck and score a goal.

"You want to keep an unbeaten run going. Wins breed confidence and we'll take that into Tuesday."

s there a PR agency covering Begovich, Odemwingie, Steven Fletcher and Grant Holt or something? Why would you offer a quote like that without having been announced by either club. #headsshoulderskneesandtoesgone

adly this is inevitable. No club outside the top 4/5 can hang on to anyone who shows that kind of talent anymore. Might be best for them to get as much as they can now while his stock is high and start again. On the plus side lads, Grant Holt is still available.
