Etuhu joined the club as an attacking midfielder in the summer following his release from Portsmouth, but has revelled in a more central role under current boss David Flitcroft.
The Tykes have secured back-to-back home wins over promotion hopefuls Brighton and Watford to climb out of the bottom three and Etuhu was keen to acknowledge the club's team ethic.
"It was a brilliant team performance," Etuhu said after the 1-0 victory over Gianfranco Zola's Watford. "The lads give 100% every game, we knew we had to be at the races because Watford are a top side.
"We've got two wins against two top sides. The manager has kept confidence in the squad and we all believe we can keep going.
"It's nice to be part of the team and play week in, week out.
"In the middle of the park is my preferred position. I like it in there. I put myself about and I try every game."
