The Swedish defender is a free agent after signing on a short-term deal for the Latics in February.

After making one substitute appearance during his spell at the DW Stadium, Wigan boss Uwe Rosler has opted against offering the Swede a contract.

His availability has alerted Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City, who will battle it out for Holgersson's signature.

The 29-year-old has one cap for Sweden and featured heavily for New York Red Bulls before his switch to Lancashire.
