Songo'o, who recently left Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City, has signed a two-year deal at Ewood Park, and Bowyer believes he will become a fans favourite.

Bowyer told the club's website: "Yann has bags of energy and is full of confidence.

"He's a no-nonsense defender, he's a winner, he just wants to improve and he's a great lad. The fans will enjoy watching him play.

"He's only 21, he is going to have to get used to the pace of the English game, he's been playing out in the MLS, but he's acquitted himself very well over the period of time that he has been here with us.

"We are delighted that he has crossed the line and signed, we are just waiting on his clearance now."

enteke is an absolute steal for £32.5m, he would get into any team in the world (except Barcelona) at the moment. I've seen many very good strikers in my 30+ years as a Villa fan. This guy is the best without question.
