Morten Gamst Pedersen: Rovers days coming to a close

The Norwegian winger has found himself surplus to requirements at Ewood Park with Rovers determined to trim their wage bill as they enter their second season in the Championship.

Pedersen has been with Blackburn since 2004 and has been a regular throughout his time in east Lancashire, although he has yet to even make the bench in the club's opening four games.

However, Under-21 manager Eric Kinder revealed Pedersen had personally asked to feature on Monday night.

"He's a top pro and has been for 10 years," Kinder told Rovers Player.

"He asked me if he could play, we haven't asked him to play in the Under-21s because of who he is.

"He's got 80-odd caps for Norway, he's been here 10 years, he's been a fantastic player for Blackburn Rovers and I hope he carries on being a fantastic player for Blackburn Rovers.

"He came to me and said, 'Eric can I play, I need 90 minutes', and you saw him and he's an absolute credit.

"I admired him before I met him and he's gone up in my estimations 100 per cent, he's a top player and a top bloke."

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
