Cummins marked his 26th birthday with a goal in the 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers on Sunday, his third in 19 appearances since arriving from Preston in September.

O'Connell, 19, has featured 24 times since joining from Blackburn in the summer.

Rochdale said on their official website: "We're delighted to announce an agreement has been reached with their respective parent clubs and the pair will now remain at Spotland until the end of the season."
