The Shakers manager spoke of his desire to keep teenager Forrester with the club after Sunday's win over York and got his wish with the forward's parent club Blackburn agreeing to let him out until the end of the season.

Flitcroft will take his team to Hartlepool on New Year's Day and he will do so with both Frederic Veseli and James Burke in his squad.

Defender Veseli, who was on the books of both Manchester United and Manchester City, has signed a one-month loan deal from Championship club Ipswich.

Centre-back Burke, meanwhile, has penned an 18-month deal following his release from Huddersfield.

It completes a busy few days for Bury, who also tied goalkeeper Brian Jensen down to a contract until the end of the year.
