Conway joined Blackburn on a two-and-a-half-year deal on Friday and helped his new side to a 2-0 victory over Blackpool just over 24 hours later.

Bowyer saw enough during the 28-year-old's 20-minute cameo to suggest he has the quality to inspire eighth-placed Rovers in the latter stages of the season.

"Craig Conway's deliveries were outstanding, we've already seen what a massive part he is going to play for us," Bowyer told the club's official website.

"His general play was good as well, I saw him ping one out wide to Kingy (Josh King) and then sprint to get in the box. That is the desire and the determination that we need.

"He's a good player, he's an international and he handles the ball very well.

"He's going to be massive to us this season. He is going to be a really good addition."

Conway could make his first start when Blackburn travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Rovers youngsters John O'Sullivan and Kellen Daly will remain with Skrill Premier side Southport until the end of the season.
