Gary Bowyer's team are currently 10th in the league table with 50 points from 36 matches, nine points behind sixth-placed Reading.

Rovers will be looking to return to winning ways on Tuesday when they take on Watford away following their 1-1 home draw against league leaders Leicester City on Saturday.

Kilgallon believes that if they can put together a run of good results, then they can finish in the top six of the Championship.

"You know what this league is like, you win three games, you get nine points and you're right back in there," the 30-year-old centre-back told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"We've been working on some stuff in training because against Bournemouth (1-0 home loss earlier this month) it wasn't good enough and we ran out of ideas.

"But we've worked on stuff, the lads have taken it on board and you could tell that on Saturday by the way we played.

"Now we don't want to let ourselves down on Tuesday because I think we've got a little carrot there."
