Campbell follows fellow striker David Goodwillie and midfielder Dickson Etuhu in having the remainder of his contract settled. The 32-year-old had 12 months left on the two-year deal he signed with Rovers in July 2013.

Campbell failed to score in his nine appearances for the Sky Bet Championship club.

Blackburn last month came to an agreement to terminate Goodwillie's contract while Etuhu departed earlier on Tuesday.
