Ian Holloway: Hopes Ashley Eastham can do a job in defence

Eastham has impressed with Notts County in recent weeks - the fifth club the 21-year-old defender has represented on loan since making his Seasiders debut in a League Cup tie with Stoke in 2009.

Holloway is without Craig Cathcart due to a calf injury and, as fellow centre-back Ian Evatt plays through the pain of a knee problem, the end of Eastham's spell at with Keith Curle's League One outfit might have arrived at an opportune time.

"Hopefully Ash might save me going out and having to buy another one," said Holloway in the Blackpool Gazette.

"If you read what Keith Curle said about Eastham last week, then there's another player who's coming through. I might be able to call him back soon.

"I might not have changed the back four, but the choices now are getting a little bit stronger. I don't think he'd be far off coming back and getting into our team. Well done to him."
