Dougie Freedman: Wary of Blackpool's threat

Michael Appleton replaced Ian Holloway in the Bloomfield Road hotseat on Wednesday night after Holloway moved to fill the vacancy left at Crystal Palace by Freedman's switch to Bolton a fortnight ago.

Blackpool have struggled in recent weeks and Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday was their first in six matches, but Freedman is not expecting too much of a change from the swashbuckling style they displayed under their former manager.

"I think that Blackpool can't change a lot in the space of two days so we don't expect a lot to be done change-wise in the team," said Freedman.

"They're very inconsistent, that's what's let them down. I think on their day they're very capable of beating anybody. The two boys up front for me are outstanding - (Matt) Phillips and (Tom) Ince are as good as you can get in this division.

"We've got to make sure that we are 100 per cent focused on the job. I believe if we prepare properly and go into the game with the right attitude it's a winnable game for us."
