Both men have been the subject of interest from Premier League clubs over the past year, with the future of England Under-21 international Ince attracting much speculation.

Now, at the very least, Blackpool will be able to secure satisfactory fees for their services after the duo joined first-teamers Chris Basham, Craig Cathcart, Matt Gilks, Bob Harris, Angel Martinez, Isaiah Osbourne and Nathan Eccleston in extending their stays along with youngsters Louis Almond, Anderson Banvo and Jake Caprice.

Talks remain on going with seven key members of Paul Ince's first-team squad, namely skipper Alex Baptiste, fellow defenders Kirk Broadfoot, Stephen Crainey and Neal Eardley, midfielders Barry Ferguson and Ludovic Sylvestre and forward Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

Long-serving defender Ian Evatt has not been offered a new deal but could earn one if he takes up the offer of resuming pre-season training with the Seasiders following an injury-ravaged campaign.

Craig Sutherland is in the same boat as Evatt, while Ashley Eastham, Tiago Gomes, Elliot Grandin and Kevin Phillips must seek pastures new after the club decided against putting new deals on the table.

Veteran striker Phillips joined Crystal Palace on loan in January and went on to help the Eagles to an npower Championship play-off place.

New contract offers have been offered to young professionals Tom Barkhuizen, Adam Dodd, Mark Halstead, Chris Kettings and Liam Tomsett, but fringe players Paul Bignot, Alex Addai, Gerardo Bruna, Matthew Challoner, Adda Djeziri and Curtis Thompson miss out.

S

till reckon Chelsea will go for Khedira as back up for Matic. I think it will turn out to be quite a Mourihno-y window: We'll see the squad players and youth in action pre-season, say things like well, we need not buy anybody and then the club will bid £60m for Pogba and send everybody on loan.

would love to be a fly on the wall at the meeting between Milner and Rodgers. I don't know if flies can count, but if they can then I would be counting the number of times Rodgers used the word outstanding in his attempts to get Milner to sign.

Reds and Arsenal chase Milner

ell, it wouldn't be a summer without Arsenal fans fretting over losing a key player, and United throwing their weight around and muscling in on transfer deals which are (apparently) near to completion. If we can't be entertained by the football on the pitch, let's enjoy the silly off-pitch soap opera of the transfer season. Hurrah!

Probably. But presumably he would not swap one bench for another. We have mails on over-hyped players, Arsenal enthusiasm, UEFA, FIFA and naked dudes...
