Player-manager Ferguson is looking to recruit this January, stating he has a shortlist "as long as his arm" of potential targets.
The former Rangers player took over as interim manager following Paul Ince's sacking at the beginning of the month.
Blackpool have struggled with form in the Championship, with their last win coming in November against Sheffield Wednesday.
With Thomas Ince looking like he will leave the club, the Seasiders would be looking at squad of just 20 if they fail to make some transfers before the deadline.
Ferguson told the Blackpool Gazette: "I have my targets and it's a question of if we can get them now.
"I have a list as long as my arm which I've given to the chairman. He knows what I need here. I don't know if we can get them over the line but we'll try.
"It's not just a couple of players we need. It's obvious we need a few players in. We need to speak to the chairman and see which way that goes."
