The former Middlesbrough midfielder finished last season at Bloomfield Road before leaving in the summer.

Jose Riga wanted to bring his fellow countryman Haroun back to the club to bolster his tiny squad, but the 28-year-old has shunned the offer.

Haroun, who turned down an approach from Championship new boys Rotherham earlier in the summer, is now looking at other options and there are a number of other clubs in England ready to make an approach.
