Dougie Freedman: Pleased with Bolton's progress

Wanderers lie 13th in the Championship but have only tasted defeat once since Freedman succeeded Owen Coyle at the end of October.

Nevertheless, a host of draws mean they remain seven points shy of the play-off places.

"Fans' expectations are no higher than mine," Freedman told the Bolton News. "My expectations are to be climbing out of this division because I think we have the talent in the squad.

"We've got a long way to go but I just feel in the last four or five games our performances have been good. We are on the right path.

"It has been stop-start, but since I have been here we have only been beaten once. The momentum is there. It's just about turning these draws into wins. That's the key to it.

"And we are just small fractions away from doing that. The table doesn't interest me in December. It kind of does in the middle of February because I know we can then put the foot down and have a real good push if we are in contention."
