Neil Kilkenny: Believes Elland Road is not as intimidating as it used to be

Australia international Kilkenny made over 140 appearances for Leeds during a three-and-a-half year stint at the club, which included promotion from npower League One under previous boss Simon Grayson in 2010.

Kilkenny, who signed for the Robins after turning down a new deal at Leeds in June 2011, said: "Obviously I remember that when I was here we used to get 30,000 most weeks and now they say it was 18,000.

"I don't know what's gone on over the year and a half I've been away, but it's disappointing for the club because they've got great fans and it's a great club.

"It's not so intimidating because the crowd is half what is used to be, players come to Leeds because it's a massive club.

"(I got a) nice reception, last year I got a nice one, hopefully they remember what I did for the club, they helped me, people know I love this club."

When asked if he thought Leeds could make the play-offs, the 27-year-old replied: "I don't know, they could push on, they need to, the fans demand success.

"(Under Grayson) we had a good team and balance to the team, it was great to play here and in front of the fans, 30,000 most weeks.

"It can get daunting when results aren't gong too well, you need to have big balls and take it, that's what we did and that's why we succeeded.

"In my last season we finished two points off the play-offs, it was a massive disappointment. We will see if Leeds can beat that because they didn't last year."
