Charlie Austin's extraordinary goal-scoring season continued as he nodded home in the fourth minute, but Marcus Tudgay levelled it up - also with his head - just before the break.

Neither side could find a winner in the second half and Dyche admitted he would be going back over the Pennines with a point.

"I am pleased with the outcome more than the performance," he said. "I wasn't pleased with the performance, particularly the first half.

"But we demand a lot from the players and we have to be realistic and know we might have a soft performance every now and then.

"So within that, the major positive was that we came out of it with a point. But the performance, especially in the first half, was not something that I was enjoying.

"We never grasped the ball and that was the main thing I was disappointed with.

"But it is quite obvious we are becoming a difficult side to beat, which is important in the Championship."
