Sean Dyche: Told to expect a quiet January

Garlick has issued a hands-off warning with regards to top scorer Charlie Austin but equally expects there to be little activity heading in the other direction.

A deal for winger Dane Richards to arrive in January is already in place but boss Sean Dyche is likely to seek reinforcements in the loan market during his first transfer window at Turf Moor.

"I hate buying in January," Garlick told Burnley's AGM on Monday night. "It is not always the best time to buy, so January will not be a priority.

"We have quite a few players out of contract here. Sean has been here about eight weeks and is still very much fine-tuning what we've got.

"There may be something in January for extra loans, but I don't think we are planning on any major activity."
