Austin continued his rich goalscoring form as Burnley beat Derby 2-0 at Turf Moor.

But instead of lavishing praise on the striker, Dyche preferred to recognise his side's work ethic and their defence.

"It was very pleasing," said the Burnley boss. "I have spoken recently about how the performance levels have been worthy of more points on the board and today there were signs of another good performance.

"I don't think it was quite as routine as people think because Derby are a fair side.

"They have always got players who can cause trouble and can come alive like they did for 20 minutes in the second half and I thought we came out worthy winners today.

"The clean sheet was appropriate today given that we have had a couple of goals recently that have gone in against the run of play and that can be a bitter pill to swallow but they went about their business well today.

"A lot has been made of Charlie scoring but behind that there are another 10 players and it is important that they are ready to do their job if he has a quiet day.

"We're one loss in seven and we are looking good value for that and if I am being greedy we are better value to have more points than that."

xcellent! Not sure if he is any good as a manager (never thought about it) but the 'headbutt in the technical area' and what he said to Pelligrini were just brilliant, it was as if he was trying to recreate the end of the Alan Partridge Xmas special when Alan punched a man in a wheelchair and verbally abused Tony Heirs.
