The Clarets sit three points clear at the top of the Championship table after winning 10 of their opening 13 games.

Dyche has managed to galvanise the side without spending big and he says that is down to the work of his coaching staff.

He told Sky Sports News: "We believe in working with the players and they've really taken ownership of the work we've put in with them on the training field. My staff deserve a lot of credit, and the players equally as much.

"I tend to not worry about the things that you can't affect. We haven't got bagfuls of money; there's no point in asking for it if there's nothing there.

"We've worked with we've got and we felt we could still be productive. It's fair to say we weren't sure if we could be as productive as we have been, but we're there now and are looking to build on that.

"One of our mantras was to be ready for each game as it comes. We agreed that as a group and that'll stay for the remainder of the season."

Burnley welcome West Ham to Turf Moor on Tuesday for their Capital One Cup fourth round tie and Dyche says they are relishing the chance to test themselves against Premier League opposition.

"We've got a few challenges, such as a few minor injuries and a suspension, but we still feel we can be productive," he said.

"We're expecting West Ham to make a few changes because they have such a deep squad but it's another good game for us at Turf Moor. It's great when a Premier League club comes to town so we're looking forward to it."
