Sean Dyche’s side finished second in the Championship last season and have been handed a tough game to begin their new season, as Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea will be keen to begin their campaign with a victory.

Burnley will face Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in their second game and will then host Manchester United at the end of August.

The Lancashire club have been handed a difficult run of games during the Christmas period as well.

Burnley will take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane five days before Christmas and will face Liverpool at home on Boxing Day.

Two days later, Dyche and his players will travel to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and will begin the New Year with a trip to Newcastle United.

Burnley will wrap up their season with a clash against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Opening three games:

August 16 - Chelsea (h)
August 23 - Swansea (a)
August 30 – Manchester United (h)

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
