Phil Parkinson: Delighted to return to winning ways

Nathan Doyle's double and a Will Atkinson strike helped the Bantams win 3-0 at Wycombe on Tuesday to end their six-game winless streak - something Parkinson felt needed to be put right after some luckless performances.

And even with the luxury of resting cup heroes James Hanson and Nahki Wells, Parkinson was encouraged by the determination shown by his squad in the League Two clash at Adams Park.

With the league's bottom side AFC Wimbledon the last game before the showpiece at Wembley, Parkinson sees no better preparation than another three points.

"I am absolutely delighted," he said. "We needed that win because results haven't gone our way, certainly in the last two games we've deserved more than we've got.

"This was a resilient performance against a good team. Wycombe are probably the form team in the division and we knew it was going to be tough.

"The lads deserved it and they earned it through sheer honesty and hard work but with a lot of quality as well and it was important we got back to winning ways.

"We have got a big cup final at the end of the month as we all know but I wanted to go into that with more points on the board because I think this team deserves to be in a better position.

"We know we have games in hand and I am very pleased because that gets us back on track."
