Mikael Lustig: Hoping Celtic can reach the last 16 of the Champions League

The Sweden full-back had offers on the table during the January transfer window, but opted to commit his future to Celtic.

That decision has now been justified, with Lustig's show of faith allowing him to take in a memorable European night at Parkhead.

He is delighted to have played his part in an historic win over Barcelona, but is keen to point out Celtic still have work to do if they are to prolong their continental adventure.

"When I came here the big goal was to reach the Champions League and I don't think too many teams would have managed this group as well as we have," he said.

"I never expected we would be where we are at this stage, though.

"We feel we can get at least a draw in Lisbon. I think Benfica will be much better at home than at Celtic Park, but we have a chance.

"I'm not saying that we're going to go over there and win, but if we defend the way we have in the other Champions League games then we have a chance."

m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.
