Neil Lennon: Sweating on injuries to Izaguirre and Samaras

Defender Emilio Izaguirre limped off with a knee injury and forward Georgios Samaras sustained a hamstring problem in the Celtic Park encounter.

And with the Hoops hosting Champions League opponents Juventus in the first-leg of their last 16 tie in 13 days, Lennon admits he is concerned.

Lennon said: "Emilio should be okay. He just felt a little bit of tightness at the back of the knee.

"Georgios, we think, may have a slight strain but he will be scanned tomorrow and we are hoping it is not too serious.

"It is two weeks until Juventus and if it is more than a mild strain then it will be a concern. At the minute it doesn't look too bad but the scan will reveal more tomorrow."

Meanwhile, the Celtic boss confirmed Norwich had made a third unsatisfactory bid for striker Gary Hooper ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.

"Never say never," Lennon added. "But we had a third bid yesterday from Norwich but that was rejected. It was well short.

"We haven't put a price on him but if people want to make a bid then fine but they will have to come forward with the money."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
