Hooper was a former team-mate of Cole, who died in December last year aged 27, at both Southend and Grays Athletic.

Former Stevenage players Steve Morison, Charlie Griffin, Lawrie Wilson, Steve Guppy, Michael Bostwick, David Bridges and Peter Vincenti are also taking part, along with Mark Creighton, Damian Batt, Harry Worley and Jack Midson, all of whom were team-mates of Cole at Oxford.

The match, between a Stevenage XI and a Mitchell Cole XI, will take place at Broadhall Way with a 7pm kick-off.

Cole made 120 appearances for Boro between 2007 and 2010 before a heart condition forced him to retire from the game.

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
