The 23-year-old has joined the Latics on a free transfer after rejecting the offer of a new deal with Celtic.

Rogne, who had also been linked with Middlesbrough and Birmingham, joined Celtic from Stabaek in February 2010 and made 65 appearances for the Hoops, scoring three goals.

He has played twice for Norway and featured for Norway U21 in their recent win over England U21 at the European Championships in Israel.

Rogne told Wigan's official website: "It's feels great to have joined the club, the process was quite short which was good and I'm looking forward to getting started now.

"It's an exciting chapter for me; English football is something special and being Norwegian we follow the game over here very closely, so to be a part of it makes me very happy.

"I've seen Wigan Athletic play quite a lot when the club was in the Premier League, and obviously the whole of Europe has been speaking about the club after the FA Cup win in May.

"I think many people have been charmed by the way the club is run and how the team plays, so it's great to be here."

he uber commercialisation of the 90s has led to the point where this overly familar, try hard, jolly hockey sticks type fronts up a major football match on a weekly basis. Unlike the great presenters of yesteryear, I doubt he would even recognise the scent of Brut.

onfirmed. Nick Miller is a douche bag. Lazy, incoherent rant is what this article should be titled. And for the editor to have the temerity to pass this as acceptable writing is shocking. Ah well, anything for clicks right? You got mine. Well done. Your mother must be proud.
