Lennon is currently on a rolling contract with the Scottish champions and the club's hierarchy are keen to sort out his long-term future.

Northern Irishman Lennon, who is beginning his third season in charge of Celtic, was linked with a number of jobs in England over the summer, but he insists he is happy with the Bhoys and is hopeful of signing a new deal soon.

"There was speculation regarding me in the summer, but that's all it ever was, speculation," Lennon said.

"I still have a one-year rolling deal, but negotiations are ongoing and hopefully we will have something resolved in the next few weeks."
