Celtic are 2-0 down from the away leg in Astana but are hopeful they can hit back against the Kazakhstan champions in front of what is likely to be a raucous home crowd at Celtic Park.

And the 28-year-old Samaras says the hosts may need to be patient and must capitalise when chances do come their way.

"The early goal would be perfect but we don't need to panic," said the Greek forward.

"We need to keep playing our game, keep moving the ball really well, and the chances will come.

"I don't care if the goals come in the last 10 minutes or the first 10 minutes. It is 90 minutes, there is plenty of time.

We believe in our team

"The main thing is to be clinical with the chances we create. We believe in our team, our talent and we fully respect Shakhter but, at Celtic Park with a full house, anything can happen.

"It is a big game. We want to be back in the Champions League group stages and hopefully everything will be OK.

"I expect it to be like the first game. They will try to defend and keep a clean sheet.

"We need to be more clever and more patient, to find a better way through their defence, and create more chances

"And the chances we create, we have to put them in the back of the net.

"They are a good team but it is a team we can beat. They are not Barcelona, whom we played last year, they are not a top European club. We respect them but we think we can do it."

Celtic v Shakhter Karagandy is live on Sky Sports 1 on Wednesday at 7.45pm.

e're our own worst enemy. We're suicidal in defence, and we may just get slaughtered on Sunday. Other than that, I am very pleased with my team.
