The Hoops were beaten 1-0 in midweek, leaving them bottom of their Champions League group, but they were convincing winners at the Global Energy Arena and remain unbeaten at home in the league.

Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk headed home the opening two goals, his first since joining in the summer and, although Ivan Sproule pulled one back, the Hoops pulled clear when Joe Ledley scored with a pair of headers of his own.

And Lennon said: "It was a great reaction to Wednesday night and we have preserved our unbeaten (league) record, which delights me.

"I thought we played very well, there were some good individual performances.

"It is a constant source of frustration that we don't score enough headers from set-pieces.

"You are waiting on one and we get four in one day, so it has been a good day all-round, and puts pressure on the rest of the teams to keep with us."

Regarding the goalscorers, he added: "He (Virgil) has got that in his game.

"He has been a bit off in his timing so we have worked with him on that and we are delighted that he has been able to come up with two.

"He is a special player and he is playing exceptionally well at the minute, as are a number of them.

"Joe has had a relatively stop-start beginning to the season. He has had a few injury problems and he is just starting to look more like himself."

Defending disappoints Adams

County boss Derek Adams said: "It was very disappointing. To defend the way we did at times today, you are going to be punished, and we were.

"But no complaints, I don't want to make any excuses.

"We tried to stifle Celtic in the first half and we did that for 40 minutes but lost a soft goal.

"Over the 90 minutes, no complaints, Celtic were strong and quick and deserved to win the match."

onfirmed. Nick Miller is a douche bag. Lazy, incoherent rant is what this article should be titled. And for the editor to have the temerity to pass this as acceptable writing is shocking. Ah well, anything for clicks right? You got mine. Well done. Your mother must be proud.
