Nah, the one where he got the ball before he even made contact with fabregas, was the 2009 semi final against Arsenal. Check the replays and analysis after the match, haven't just got my red-tinted glasses on, was the general consensus that it was a good tackle. Well, excluding gooners that is. Spurs fan you say?

@utd_till_i_die - would be very risky to try new tactics in such a high stakes game. After his performance in the first leg most Utd fans would echo varicoseregent's comment of "Ah buggeration."

I rate Jones. I think he's a very talented player and I'm willing to accept his mistakes in the short term, because in the long run we could have a very talented player on our hands. I find it irritating that in this country, when we have talented players, we expect perfection from them every time they play. It's more than a little unreasonable with seasoned professionals, nevermind 21 year olds with limited exposure to top flight Premier League and European football. Jones dida very good job in the first legt, and games like this are key to a young players development. It's a shame he's out.

Am I the only one feeling a bit chuffed about this? Jones may have stopped Ronaldo once, but I doubt he would have been able to do it again especially with the intensity that will be shown by both teams in this most important second leg. Maybe new tactics to stop Ronaldo might just be the tonic our defenders will need to get through.

As my Dad would say, "Ah buggeration."
