The Bundesliga side were drawn against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League on Monday, leaving Leverkusen with no small challenge if they are to make it through to the quarter-finals for the first time since losing the final in 2002.

"There were no easy opponents in this draw," said Rolfes. "All of the teams we could have met are top European sides.

"We've got PSG and this is going to be a big challenge for us which we're glad to accept. We're really looking forward to the games."

Leverkusen will go into the game as underdogs, if only for the budgets the two clubs have.

That should not frighten the Bundesliga side, though, according to Stefan Reinartz, who was part of the Leverkusen team humbled 7-1 by Barcelona in March 2012.

"We've already shown that we can survive against sides who are financially better off than us," he said on his club's website.

"All games have got to be played."

he uber commercialisation of the 90s has led to the point where this overly familar, try hard, jolly hockey sticks type fronts up a major football match on a weekly basis. Unlike the great presenters of yesteryear, I doubt he would even recognise the scent of Brut.
