McAnuff: Unsurprised

The Royals would surely be reluctant to lose McDermott, who has been linked with Premier League Wolves this week, but midfielder McAnuff appreciates that success will always earn outside interest.

"Brian has done a magnificent job at Reading," he told the Reading Post.

"His record in this league is second to none so it's not surprising he has been linked with other clubs and at some point you have to expect that.

"We have to just get on with things. We need to come in, crack on and get our work done.

"It's just how football works if you are doing a good job, you have options higher up and someone wants to take you."
