Norris: Only joined Pompey last summer

Portsmouth are resigned to losing a number of their top players due to their ongoing financial problems and their relegation to League One and a number of clubs are waiting in the wings to sign Norris.

Norris only joined Portsmouth last summer on a free transfer, but they are being forced to listen to offers for the goalscoring midfielder in a bid to trim their wage bill.

The likes of Leeds and Ipswich have been linked with a move for Norris, but Wednesday are hoping to steal a march on their Championship rivals for the 31-year-old.

Owls boss Dave Jones has been busy in the transfer market already this summer bringing in Chris Kirkland, Kieran Lee and Joe Mattock and Norris is also on his wanted list.
